Slightly old hat I know but it comes to something when Britain's august mainstream media commentators are little more articulate than comment box trolls. Before discussing the result of the Bradford West bye-election everyone has to swear that George Galloway is wrong and bad and probably smells and you definitely disagree with him. George Galloway is an egotist? No, next thing you'll be telling me he's a self-serving opportunist. Galloway has very unpopular views, which, in the case of withdrawing from Afghanistan, say, or opposing government austerity, most people agree with. Galloway courts the muslim vote? It's almost like there's equal and direct suffrage where every vote counts as much as the next. Galloway likes dictators? So do most people, especially when the price is right, just ask David Cameron or Tony Blair.
